The WD-7 or WD-7C with lockable heavy duty casters have built in connector plates on their sides that can be punched and wired to your custom specifications. Surprisingly, it's not a lot more expensive than buying a standard Medusa® snake with a separate reel.
Some pre-manufactured reels (like Whirlwind's WD-5) have a built in tray on the bottom for storing the stage box.
