Rock icons on tour with Whirlwind gear. By Will Young
Michael Laiacona (our beloved president and audio guru) and I had the pleasure of hanging side stage the other night for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as well as Crosby, Stills, and Nash courtesy of guitar tech Alan Rogan, (pictured left) formerly the guitar tech for rock legends such as Pete Townsend, and George Harrison as well as Stage Manager for The Who.
Tom Petty's show was nothing shy of immaculate with a set chock full of classics as well as prime cuts from his new album entitled "Mojo". Lead guitarist Mike Campbell, in particular was in true form showcasing his solo ability on "Good Enough" reminiscent of vintage Jimmy Page or classic Howlin' Wolf. As expected, C,S, & N laid down a memorable set and even added a few classic covers to round out an otherwise vintage show. Whirlwind is proud to be included in both bands' arsenal of sound and will continue to build tour worthy gear that these legends can turn to year after year and call their own.
