MicWorks
Above is a two-piece, three way splitter built for MICWORKS of Costa Mesa, California.
It consists of two panels that will eventually be mounted on opposite sites of a rack. All 40 XLR inputs are duplicated on both panels.
The right hand panel (front view) features five W1 subsnake inputs. These subsnakes are not wired to the MASS outputs, they are wired directly to sub out XLR groups A-E located on the opposite panel. They are then patched from these white and blue XLR outputs with short cables to the XLR inputs located above. This provides for flexibility in the system as these channels can be routed to any desired input channel.
One direct and two isolated outputs are provided via Whirlwind TRSP-2 transformers and three W4 MASS connectors.
Note the construction detail in the rear view. Service loops are provided for all multipin connectors and hundreds of wire ties are located at all points of possible stress (standard in all Whirlwind construction). Also, notice the cable clamps attached to metal "L" brackets on the right rear panel and the metal strain relief bracket on the left rear panel that provide positive attachment and strain relief for the multipair cables.
